Manutaki4 2020Tālofa Lava, Mālo e Lelei, Mauri, Bula, Fakaalofa lahi atu and warm Pasifika greetings.

It is a great privilege to be your Pasifika Manutaki for 2020.

Our role is to represent each and every Pasifika student here at Marlborough Girls' College. We are excited to show, express and share the uniqueness of our Pasifika cultures. We are very proud of the opportunity to grow Pasifika Performing Arts in our school and to include a wider community of people, who are not Pasifika.

Our culture is expressed through traditional dances, Pasifika language weeks, traditional food stalls, fiafia night and many more activities which we have planned throughout the year.

We will be working together with our Pasifika committee and our Manutaki, to support how our Pasifika students see themselves in our school.

It is important to acknowledge the diversity of our Pasifika students in our school. We have students who come from Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati, Cook Islands, Fiji and Niue.

Our aim is that our Pasifika culture stays alive and grows within the school. It is important that our students have a space to celebrate their identity and pride for our school.

Fa'afetai tele lava! Mālo Aupito!
