Upcoming Events

Year 8 Introductory Evening - Tuesday 20 August - from 7 pm in the MGC Hall.  All parents/whanau and Year 8 students welcome. 
Year 8 Interviews - 11 - 14 November - from 3.30 pm.  Information on how to book an interview will be provided to parents closer to the time
Year 8 Orientation Day - 29 November - all Year 8 students visit MGC for orientation

School Bus Information

All students eligible to attend MGC and who live at least 4.8 km from the school are entitled to school bus transport.

The Ministry of Education, through Ritchies, provide bus transport to and from school for those students who are eligible. Buses travel from Witherlea, Dillons Point Road, Spring Creek, Ward, Seddon, Fairhall, Wairau Valley, Havelock, Northbank, Rapaura, Kaituna, Rarangi, Sounds Linkwater, Waihopai, Renwick and Grovetown.  For bus pick up times and locations in the mornings, please contact Ritchies directly on 03 578 5647.

If your child is eligible and intends to travel on one of the school buses, please complete and return the Bus Information and Code of Conduct form.  To return the completed form you can either drop it in at our school reception or send as an attachment to This email address is being protected from spambots. Families may be eligible for additional financial support through a 'conveyance allowance' if there is no school bus in your area, or you live more than 2.4km from the nearest school bus route.  You will need to make an application for this allowance if you fit the above criteria using the form below.  If you have any questions about this, please contact Jenny Pullin, the Bus Coordinator on This email address is being protected from spambots. School Uniform

Our uniform shop is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1 - 2.15pm.  For more information on the uniform please click on the link below.

Subject Selection 

Once you have enrolled online, you will be emailed a username and password to access the parent portal. 
Parent portal can be found on the front page of our website under the Quicklinks.
Here you can select the optional subjects you would like to take for 2020.

Digital Technology

MGC is a BYOD (Bring your own device) school.  This means that all students require a device to support and enhance teaching and learning across the school.  Please click the link below for more information about bringing digital devices, and the systems and support available through the school if you are unable to provide a device.
